Growing Through Grief Conference
We are delighted to announce that we will be holding a conference to celebrate our 25th Anniversary Year. You can find out the full details and apply here.
Our keynote speaker is
Dr Pooky Knightsmith – Mental Health Educator, Speaker, Author & Advisor
An internationally respected face of child and adolescent mental health, Pooky works tirelessly to ‘be the change she wants to see’. A prolific keynote speaker, lecturer, trainer and author, she develops and shares practical, evidence-informed approaches to promoting mental health – arming health and education staff with the skills, information and knowledge they need to support the children in their care; whilst also working hard to drive collaboration and change at a national and international level amongst politicians and charity, business and service leads. Pooky has a PhD in child mental health from the Institute of Psychiatry, is the author of five books and is the current vice chair of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition. She’s also a Mum of two who works hard every day to win her own battles against PTSD, anorexia, self-harm and depression.

New Dates for Childhood Loss and Grief Training
We have now set some new dates for our Level 1 & 2 training . These courses are suitable for any professionals who might come into contact with bereaved children in the course of their work, volunteers and those wanting to gain an understanding of how best to support bereaved children. The Greatest Show Songs from Stage & Screen
The Greatest Show Songs from Stage & Screen on Saturday 20th October is a night not to be missed! An evening of cabaret entertainment compered by Mike Bearcroft with Cabaret Artiste Sylvia McEwen performing for one night only at Devoran Village Hall in aid of us at Penhaligon’s Friends and Devoran Village Hall – for more information see the poster below.

CVWOC Cornwall Jamboree – Bank Holiday Weekend!
We are very fortunate that Cornwall VW Jamboree are fundraising for Penhaligon’s Friends this year over the bank holiday weekend. This huge show is a must-see for Volkswagen fans, so if you’re popping along please come and say hi, we’ll be there all weekend with our Teddy Tombola.

Last year Clare had a boat party for her 30th birthday celebrations and as she had such an amazing time she has decided to do it again and wants you to join her! This year she plans to raise money for Penhaligon’s Friends. Over £3,100 Raised at the Portloe Gin & Crack a Crab Event
We were thrilled to hear that the Portloe Gin & Crack-a-Crab event organised by John Casson Foundation, raised over £3,100 for our charity! It was a lovely afternoon with superb music by Melange. Huge thanks to Jenny and John and those who cam e from the village and to all who supported the day, we are so grateful to you all!
