Julie manages Penhaligon’s Friends as well as being involved with our Memory Days and some of the family support work. Julie deals with all our funding and fundraising. Her background prior to joining the charity includes working as a trained nursery nurse and with the NSPCC. Julie has been with the charity since 2006.
Julie lives in the north of the county with her partner and two boys. They have a wide range of animals and wildlife on their smallholding.
Family Services Manager
Becky has been with the charity since 2009, she oversees the day to day service delivery of the Family Services Team and also works closely with education to ensure that the maximum support is offered to schools and children when faced with bereavement issues.
Becky lives in West Cornwall with her husband and four children. As foster carers their household is always busy and their dogs Delilah & Bear, add to the entertainment!
Senior Family Services Support Worker
Polly works in a part-time role for us as part of our Family Services Team. Polly joined our staff team after spending a number of year supporting us as a volunteer. Polly spends her time ensuring the smooth running of our Parents Groups and Memory Days and is one of the supportive voices on the end of the phone or visiting families at home.
Polly has spent many years working in Nursing and Health Visiting and brings a wealth of experience to our team. Polly lives in Mid Cornwall with her four young children, if this doesn’t already keep her busy enough she often takes on other challenges including the odd marathon run!
Family Services Support Worker
Rebecca works full-time as a Family Services Support Worker, alongside the rest of the Family Services Team and our fantastic volunteers. Rebecca spends a lot of time on the phone, and is always a caring voice on the end of the phone.
Lizzie is our Youth Worker and co-ordinates our Teens groups. These groups run on a Monday evening in 4 different locations around the county. She is in the office 2 days a week. Lizzie also works as a specialist teacher of children with learning difficulties and co-ordinates holiday activities for another local charity for children with disabilities.
Lizzie lives at home with her husband, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs- enjoys walking and swimming as well spending time in the Cornish countryside.
Jo works part-time as our Office administrator and is responsible for training bookings, donations and family services administration. She brings a wealth of experience and we value her calm, efficient and organised ways.
Outside of work Jo likes to spend time camping, or at the beach with her two children.
Ali joined the team in 2018 as a Reception/Admin to help with the many visitors and phone calls we get here in the office. Ali also keeps the office organised, arranges family visits and keeping all of our paperwork up to date. Ali will often be the first person you speak to when you call the office.
Outside of work Ali likes cooking, camping and spending time walking her two dogs.
Chantal Worden Evans
Chantal works part-time as our Volunteer Coordinator. She is the main contact for all new volunteer enquiries and delivers the volunteer training program. Chantal also coordinates all of our fundraising events and works closely with the local community!
Chantal leads a busy life outside of work with her 3 very active children.
Family Services Support Worker
Fundraising and Communications Officer
Jerry Drew is the newest member of the team who joined us in June 2019 Fundraising and Communications Officer. Jerry works Thursdays and Fridays with Penhaligon’s Friends and is keen to hear from individuals, groups and businesses who are looking to support Penhaligon’s Friends in our work with bereaved children, young people and their families. Jerry also runs a Community Centre in Newlyn as well as being a Member Pioneer with the Co-op. Jerry’s interests include theatre, cinema, contemporary dance (watching not performing!) and watching the Cornish Pirates. Fun fact: Jerry has been known to take to the stage as a Dame in pantomime.
